Philip Bramley
Combi-plus Seed Drill, Bramleys Seed Establishment, North Yorkshire
With the ability to direct drill into stubbles, used in minimum tillage situations or in a plough-based system, Philip’s versatile drill creation was a machine borne out of necessity. A wet drilling season prompted arable farmer and founder of Bramleys Seed Establishment, Philip, to come up with an alternative to the traditional, power-hungry sub-soiling method of establishing OSR. The resulting machine is a power harrow and drill combination using a close coupled toolbar for deep soil loosening. It features a split hopper, allowing seed and fertiliser to be established when sowing OSR. The unit is said to require 130hp and can be used in various combinations.
