Now Emily has been placed in to the editorial team, she works on social media and digital content, enabling her to write lots about her favourite thing ever: FOOD
A huge history geek, a food blogger and vintage hoarderer, you will probably find her wearing something old, dusty and flarey.
George Dunn
George Dunn studied Agricultural Economics at Nottingham and Reading Universities before working as an Economist at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food (MAFF) in Whitehall, London between 1989 and 1992. He then spent 4 years as Rural Economics Adviser to the Country Landowners Association (CLA) before joining the Tenant Farmers Association (TFA) as its Chief Executive in January 1997. He has been a member of numerous organisations including: the National Trust’s Properties Committee and its Rural Enterprise Panel, National Trust Specialist Volunteer on land-use and Governance issues, TFA on the Tenancy Reform Industry Group, Future of Farming Review Group established by DEFRA, Rock Review Tenancy Working Group, Welsh Government’s Tenancy Working Group, Prince's Countryside Fund Farm Advisory Group, Farming Community Network serving as Chairman of the charity, Trustee of the Arthur Rank Centre, Associate of the Royal Agricultural Societies. He was awarded the Farmers Weekly Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. He is also on the leadership team of his local, Reading based, Elim Pentecostal church.
Alice Liddle
Alice studied Agriculture at Newcastle University and then joined Morrisons' manufacturing graduate scheme in 2018. Alice worked across different roles with the livestock team at Woodheads before joining Morrisons' egg packer, Chippindale Foods in 2020 - December 2021.
After a brief spell with Cranswick Country Foods, Alice moved back into Morrisons in December 2022 to work as the Agriculture Specialist for the whole Morrisons business. When not at work, Alice is a Council Member for the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, Vice Chair of the Masham Sheep Breeders Association, and a fourth generation livestock farmer, through Liddle Lambs.
Rhona Campbell-Crawford
Rhona was the 2022 Agricultural Student of the Year Gold winner and is now back to judge the 2023 line up! Although not from a farming background, Rhona grew up in the Perthshire countryside and has always loved being outdoors. She started working on a local blackface sheep farm and joined Strathearn Young Farmers in her school years and her passion for agriculture grew from there.
Rhona boosted her practical farming experience whilst at uni by taking milking, harvest and lambing jobs in between her studies. Fast forward to today, Rhona has just finished her final year of her BSc (hons) Agriculture at SRUC, with her dissertation topic being 'An Investigation into Scottish Sheep Farmers’ Perspectives on Ovine Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma (OPA) Diagnostics and Control'.
After Graduation, Rhona's next chapter is as a trainee agricultural consultant at SAC Consulting.
In addition to her BFA, Rhona was also a runner-up at the Agriscot Business Skills Awards 2022, where she was highly commended by the judges for having an excellent CV. Outside of agriculture, Rhona's passion is her horse, 'Buddy', and love of British Eventing. She spends most summer weekends competing at British Eventing fixtures all over Scotland and North England, and rides/trains almost every day! Rhona's motto is 'If you put in the work, you can achieve anything' and wishes all the 2023 BFA competitors the best of luck!
